In this Intensive we worked on the bagua step, moving forward in Step up Deflect, Parry and Punch and backward in Repluse Monkey.
Refining the step gives these movements a sense of balance and fluidity.
The step involves placing the heel one footstep length ahead or behind to toe of the other foot, with the feet facing opposite corners.
Turning the spine to shift the weight in this position gives a smooth, balanced movement, ending in a high sit, facing forward.
Qigong Exercises: Punching with an angry gaze to increase strength (left or above), Open the bow to shoot eagle (right or below).
